A pause in the present moment of time, captures people, places, or animals with respect to the surrounding beauty and the angular dimensions. The color and lighting of the focused targets can be enhanced with a selective hue, saturation, luminance, definition, intensity, or softness. The visually enhanced aesthetics of the photos help to express the beauty of vision and the gift of being able to see color.
Young childhood exposure to different forms of color, paint, and brushes rooted the artist within. After years of dormant painting expression, there was a spark of remembrance of a forgotten self. Acrylic paints find the canvas through the flow of brush application. Music helps to guide this flow of colors. Each painting is a playful experience. Brush strokes, color combos, and painting surfaces are an ever changing experiment with an unknown end result. Inspirations are found in nature, people, and emotional connections.

Fragile Future 3.13, 2013
Dandelion seed, phosphorus bronze, LEDs, and Plexiglass by Lonneke Gordijin & Ralph Nauta
Technology and nature meet in a delicate fusion within Fragile Future 3.13, a light sculpture featuring real hand-picked dandelion seeds meticulously attached seed by seed to a series of LED lights connected through a scaffolding of bronze circuits. The dandelion, transient and fleeting, symbolizes the deli-cate state of nature and interrogates today's disposable culture and whether nature can survive along-side technology in the future. The Fragile Future series "can be seen as a critical yet utopian vision on the future of our planet, where two seemingly opposite evolutions have made a pact to survive.”
